Tumblr: “Queue by default” option, please!
I’m sure that many people, like me, go through an hour or so of Tumblr frenzy, catching up with their dashboard, reblogging, reblogging, reblogging.
Or, if they use Tumblr to capture quotes and notes while reading, go through an hour or so of reading frenzy, tumbling, tumbling, tumbling.
I like to spread out my posts somewhat. Otherwise my poor followers (including my Facebook friends, because my Tumblr gets sucked up and reproduced over there) have to cope with feast and famine: I don’t publish for ages, and then I swamp them.
So I use the queue. Thank you, Tumblr, for the queuing system.
- the add to queue option is in a drop-down, top right: that’s move the mouse up there, click, click again, move the mouse back to the “create post” button which now says “queue”, click; if I’m using the bookmarklet it’s even worse, as I have to click advanced, go to the drop-down, drop it, click on queue
- I do this for pretty much every single post I add to Tumblr
So, here are two ideas that would make me (and many others on Tumblr, I’m sure!) very happy, in addition to keeping our click-related RSI down. Just pick one:
- add a “Queue” button next to “Create post” and “Preview”
- if you don’t want to clutter the interface, which I understand, give us an option to “queue by default”, which will preselect “add to queue” instead of “publish now” in the drop-down.
Thanks in advance,
Your long-time fan and avid Tumblr Stephanie
Please reblog if this would come in handy for you too!
